Artists have always taken inspiration from nature but as well as being a great source of beauty and inspiration, research shows that when we connect with nature, it soothes and de-stresses us, helps our ability to focus, and induces feelings of awe and inspiration.
We are in a biodiversity and climate crisis, and as technology has advanced, we have removed and isolated ourselves from nature, seeing ourselves as separate as opposed to being part of nature. A state of estrangement that philosophers have called ‘species loneliness'.
The aim of this series is to reconnect with nature and explore our relationship with the environment through art.
Each session is led by an artist who is passionate about creating work through sustainable practices.
