Who is this class suitable for?
Ages 8–13
Children do not need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What will be covered in the class?
During the Easter holidays join artist Katie Ellen Fields in the Hello Spring! Club and welcome the new season with fresh activity, creativity and play! Over two days Katie will lead us on an artistic adventure - creating artwork inspired by the great outdoors and the changing season.

Session One:
Outside! Many artists like to work en plein air – outdoors! In this session we’ll take our chairs and sketchbooks outside. We’ll use different tools and techniques to create a series of works inspired by what we can see, hear and smell.

Session Two:
Nature! Nature is full of art supplies. We’ll start this session outside to collect colours, textures and materials. Back in the studio we’ll each make a work on canvas inspired by our finds.

Book sessions individually or book both.
What’s will I need to bring?
All tools and materials are included. Participants will need to wear clothing suitable for making art and for changeable weather.

Location
We will be using our outdoor spaces and Open Garden as much as possible. We will use our art studio as a base and if the weather requires.

Accessibility: Please note the art studio is situated at the top of a flight of stairs. Tools are all light and accessible. Work benches are not currently height adjustable.

Tutor
Katie Ellen Field’s practice explores the creation and reverence of objects, particularly those used in rituals and ceremonies. Materiality is a frequent starting point; the green and granite of Milton Keynes in particular.
