What will be covered in the workshop?
Katie will show you how to make your own colourful inks and paints from nature! We'll go on a short foraging walk, experiment with our colours and you'll get to decorate a pencil case to take home with you.
What will participants leave the workshop with?
A pencil case, dyed decorated with the natural colours you have created during the workshop.
What will I need to bring?
All tools and materials are included. Participants will need to wear clothing suitable for making art and for changeable weather. This session includes a short, accessible walk in the grounds of Milton Keynes Arts Centre (weather permitting).
Art Studio: Please note the art studio is situated at the top of a flight of stairs. Tools are all light and accessible. Work benches are not currently height adjustable.
We will also have use of the Open Garden (Weather Permitting).
Katie Field’s practice explores the creation and reverence of objects, particularly those used in rituals and ceremonies. Materiality is a frequent starting point; the green and granite of Milton Keynes in particular. www.katieellenfields.wordpress.com
