Who is this class suitable for?
This workshop is suitable for all abilities. The morning workshop is suitable for children 8–12 years of age and the afternoon of young people 13–17 years of age.
We kindly ask that you contact us inform of any accessibility needs at the time of booking.
Children/young people do not need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What will be covered in the workshop?
Katie will show you how to make your own colourful inks and paints from nature! We'll go on a short foraging walk, experiment with our colours and you'll get to decorate a pencil case to take home with you.
What will participants leave the workshop with?
A pencil case, dyed decorated with the natural colours you have created during the workshop.
What will I need to bring?
All tools and materials are included. Participants will need to wear clothing suitable for making art and for changeable weather. This session includes a short, accessible walk in the grounds of Milton Keynes Arts Centre (weather permitting).
Location
Art Studio: Please note the art studio is situated at the top of a flight of stairs. Tools are all light and accessible. Work benches are not currently height adjustable.
We will also have use of the Open Garden (Weather Permitting).
Tutor
Katie Field’s practice explores the creation and reverence of objects, particularly those used in rituals and ceremonies. Materiality is a frequent starting point; the green and granite of Milton Keynes in particular. www.katieellenfields.wordpress.com
