We are booking up to 12 people on this course, on the understanding that from 21 June all social distancing measures will be relaxed. If this is not the case, we will ask the last 6 people who joined to transfer onto the next available course.
We are committed to working with our artists and communities in continuing to provide opportunities for creativity during these challenging times. Together, we have been working throughout lockdown in reconfiguring our courses to ensure the safety of all concerned without compromising on quality. Find out more about our new safety measures.

Who is this class suitable for?
Suitable for any level of experience, but a little knowledge of painting is helpful.
What will be covered in the class?
Join artist Julia Roach for this one day watercolour painting course, exploring how to depict flowers and fauna using various watercolour techniques.
Through demonstrations, instruction and guidance, you will gain an understanding of traditional watercolour techniques, using a variety of mediums such as salt, thread, sponging, wax resists and many more.
Over the day a series of experimental studies will be created. For the latter part of the day you will create a final piece, incorporating the skills and approaches you have gained over the day on a larger scale.
Students will leave the course with a good understanding of approaches and techniques practiced throughout the day as well as a series of studies and small paintings depicting flowers, fauna, and leaves.
What will I need to bring?
All materials are included. Students will have access to paints, easels, paper, canvases and brushes. Students are encouraged to bring any of their own materials of their choice, but this is not required. Please feel free to bring in any of your own flowers.
Please wear an apron or old shirt as acrylic marks clothing if dried.
Paintings will need to be taken away at the end of each day; as they may still be wet we suggest using a vegetable box to store these and carry with you after the workshops.
Art Room, only accessible using stairs, and our beautiful outdoor spaces.
