Who is this class suitable for?
This workshop is suitable for all abilities. The morning workshop is suitable for children 8–12 years of age and the afternoon of young people 13–17 years of age.
We kindly ask that you contact us inform of any accessibility needs at the time of booking.
Children/young people do not need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What will be covered in the workshop?
Join artist Julie Leaming to make creative ceramic sculptures inspired by the summer season and the natural green spaces surrounding the Arts Centre. From sunflowers to bird life Julie will help you craft your summertime sculpture, using hand building techniques, and decorated with coloured slips.
What will participants leave the class with?
Each participant will have made a ceramic sculpture which will then be bisque fired in our kilns for collection at a later date.
What will I need to bring?
All tools and materials are included. Participants will need to wear clothing suitable clothing for getting messy and closed toed shoes.

Ceramics Studio (ground floor with raised tables, narrow doorways).
Tutor
Julie Leaming is an artist and sculptor working mostly in clay making ceramic sculptures and vessels for indoor and outdoor spaces. Her work is about form, space and movement looking at, lines, curves and shapes within a structure and distil them to their simplest form, to reveal a glimpse of the original.
Julie studied at the University of Hertfordshire completing a Degree in Fine Art in 2015 before focusing her work on ceramics. Presently working from a studio in Baldock, Hertfordshire she exhibits her work within galleries and events across the south of England
