Ibiye Camp
Join us for free family events this Summer as part of Set Menu with Ibiye Camp. Set Menu comprises of 14 free workshops throughout August for all ages and abilities. For each workshop participants are encouraged to interpret a series of instructions designed by 7 guest artists, with all works produced carefully curated by artist Ibiye Camp, forming Set Menu’s artist and community exhibition throughout September within Milton Keynes Arts Centre Gallery.

Join us for this stool / art object making workshop in response to public spaces, specifically Milton Keynes Arts Centre's Gallery space.
This workshop explore the purpose of public spaces that do not always provide areas of communal seating, which offer a necessary space and time for reflection, or simply as a tool for rest whilst you discover. The object participants will create in this hands on and practical workshop will be light weight, portable with multiple uses, functional and decorative.
The seating will become a temporary display at Milton Keynes Arts Centre for the duration of Set Menu, throughout August and September.
Everyday materials will be used, making it adaptable to most people, it can be collaborative effort or individual.

We will be creating two types of textile patterns, making tie dye t-shirts and making potato stamps to apply onto aprons. (First you will need to forage for the potatoes, which are growing on site at Milton Keynes Arts Centre). When cutting our patterns into the potato we will be referencing different types of looms from west Africa.

Experiment with creating functional or abstract forms of crockery in this two part ceramic making and painting workshops, using ideas of sharing at the forefront of your inspiration. Referencing figurative forms, play with designs and shapes to make cobination plates and platters in the shape of cupped hands, double handled mugs and stacked cups.
Painting Brief
Taking inspiration from the vibrant colours and patterns seen in West African culture participants will be encouraged to create designs expressing joy and playfulness.
Each participant will make one or two pieces, which will contribute to Set Menu's exhibition oening party on Saturday 27 August and used as crockery for serving. Items will be available to take home after the party or if curated into the exhibition, at the end of September.

Me and my Pom Pom

During this workshop you will tell a story through the processes of pom pom making. Artist Kay Davis will guide you through colour theory and storytelling through shape, colour and texture.
The outcome of this workshop is to have participants create a range of pom pom accessories that capture individual character and evoke memories through the act of wearing these unique pieceof jewellery. Earrings, key rings, necklaces that display individual stories and the identities attached.
