What will be covered in the class?
Discover the crafting medium Precious Metal Clay (PMC) in this intensive jewellery making workshop led my master silversmith Clare Layton.
PMC is a crafting medium consisting of very small particles of metal such as silver, gold, bronze, or copper mixed with an organic binder and water and can be used to create unique pieces of jewellery, beads and small three-dimensional objects.
Once complete your creations will fired and set with a torch.
Who is this class suitable for?
This class is aimed at adults (16+) and suitable for all levels of ability.
What’s included?
All tools and equipment are included. £50 worth of materials is included. Lunch is not included; hot drinks and snacks can be purchased from our on-site café.
What to bring?
Please wear appropriate clothing including close-toed shoes and tying long hair back.
You are encouraged to bring any of your own silversmith tools and materials if you have any that you would like to work with.
Tutor
Clare Layton has been working with Milton Keynes Arts Centre for a number of years to deliver her hugely popular and sell-out silversmith workshops. Clare has extensive experience in silversmith techniques and creative tutoring.
