Who is this class suitable for?
Ages 7–10, children only
Children do not need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Activities will take place on the ground floor in our wheelchair accessible Ceramics Studio. Asthmatics must wear provided dust masks.
What will be covered in the class?
Children will learn basic hand building skills to make pots and pinch pot creatures with experienced tutor Andrew Macdermott in this three day course.
Children will take their creations home at the end of each day, with instructions on how to dry and glaze their works using a mixture of acrylic paint and PVA glue.
What’s included?
Tools and materials. Please bring an apron or shirt to cover clothes, tie back long hair and wear close-toed shoes.

Andrew Macdermott is a product of evening pottery classes at Milton Keynes Arts Centre. ‘I fell in love with the tactile clay immediately and now a few years on I teach the class I learnt in.’ Andy makes and sells Icelandic-inspired ceramic pieces at craft fairs and galleries across the country.
