What will be covered in the workshop?
Join ceramic artist Lizzie Westray in a pinch pot pumpkin workshop using clay and coloured slips to make cute Halloween pots, which can be painted and sealed with PVA glue and used for keeping trinkets inside. During the demonstration, participants will learn how to make a pinch pot complete with lid in the shape of a pumpkin. For decoration purposes only.  

Families of all ages are welcome to watch the demonstration for free as we live stream on Zoom. For those wanting to give it a go alongside Lizzie, please see below for a list of things to get ready before you start. Some materials can be purchased at the time of booking with collection from Milton Keynes Arts Centre on the dates listed below.

You will need
  • Clay
  • Acrylic paint 
  • Newspaper
  • Tools for carving and cutting shapes into clay 
  • Pot of water
  • Paint brushes
  • A clear work surface

Material packs include (recommended one per person)

You can find most of the materials you need at home, or you can purchase our pre-made materials packs at the time of booking and collect directly from Milton Keynes Arts Centre.

For every materials pack bought by those who can afford it, we will give away one for free to those who need a little extra support.
