Summary
Milton Keynes Arts Centre (MKAC) is seeking a highly motivated and efficient Communications & Bookings Coordinator. This role will be fundamental to the successful communication of MKAC’s programme of exhibitions, live events and educational activities and will oversee all areas of commercial income generation including space hire, tenancies and related enquiries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of new and existing audiences and the management of MKAC’s website, social media and targeted marketing. You will be highly organised, have excellent problem-solving skills and a calm, confident and professional approach which will enable you to manage both communications of MKACs programme and oversee bookings.
Milton Keynes Arts Centre is a multidisciplinary arts centre set in the historic grounds of Great Linford Manor Park. We present a programme of exhibitions, live events and educational activities inspired by craft, design and the visual arts. We provide artists with access to specialist resources and the space to explore new ideas, often developed in tandem with our communities.

Main Duties
Communications
- To be first point of contact for all
visitors to Milton Keynes Arts Centre; answering
queries and resolving problems.

Work in collaboration with the Marketing
Manager (MM), learning and online teams to create marketing materials to
communicate our broad programme of events
and courses to the widest possible audiences.

Work in collaboration with the learning
teams to write copy for MKAC’s website to
ensure content is current and relevant.

Collaborate with the MM on digital and
traditional communications strategies.

Support the MM with the development and
implementation of an Audience Development Plan.

Working closely with the MM, Programme
Manager and Online Curator to maximise online potential to grow and maintain
audiences, and support in researching new digital channels including retail and
fundraising opportunities.

To maintain effective data capture of
audience research and analysis, so that information
is accessible and useful in informing audience development.

Take responsibility for ensuring audience
databases are kept up to date.

Take responsibility for ensuring all
document sharing and storage meets GDPR legislations.

Take responsibility for building and maintaining
relationships with donors.

required.
Bookings
- Responsible for all incoming commercial
enquiries including but not limited to: courses and venue hire; children’s
parties; creative training; schools bookings; any other income generating
events.

Provide necessary information to interested
consumers, actively selling our income generating strands.

Create and update as necessary all
commercial strand documentation and administration (ie brochures, contracts,
T&Cs, databases), always ensuring that dates for commercial activities sit
in the calendar alongside other MKAC events and programmes appropriately.

Ensure Risk Assessments are written and shared
with the team and clients for all private hires.

To work with the Marketing Manager to
coordinate all aspects of marketing of commercial strands including hires and
courses.

Provide the Learning Team with details and
analysis of course bookings so that they are able to make informed decisions on
any necessary programming.

Work in collaboration with the Online
Curator to regularly update income generating strands on MKAC’s website to
ensure it is current and relevant, including courses and hires.

- Experience of leading on marketing and
communications initiatives.

Highly organised with methodical approach.

Flexibility to work evenings and occasional
weekends as required.
