Who is this class suitable for?
Learners should have some experience of working with ceramics and associated tools. This course will support development of design and making skills.
What will be covered in the class?
Challenge your ceramics skills in this artist supported workshop. Design your project with assistance from tutor Andrew Macdermott and push your skills in hand building, throwing and decoration. This course will develop your technical and creative skills with assistance and feedback from your tutor and technicians.
What to bring?
One bag of clay, glaze materials and kiln firings. Learners should wear close toed shoes and appropriate clothes for making with clay. Please bring your own notebooks for sketching and recording technical notes.
Andrew Macdermott is a product of evening pottery classes at Milton Keynes Arts Centre. ‘I fell in love with the tactile clay immediately and now a few years on I teach the class I learnt in.’ Andy makes and sells Icelandic-inspired ceramic pieces at craft fairs and galleries across the country.
