Adults with all skill levels.
Must be able to sit at a pottery wheel.
What will be covered in the class?
Join ceramicist Andy McDermott for a beginners guide to the basics of wheel throwing. You will learn how to centre, shape and lift the clay to make forms.
What will students leave the class with?
A basic understanding of the process of throwing. A basic understanding of how to throw on the wheel. Some unfired wheel thrown and tidied forms.
Aprons or coveralls should be worn at all times, along with hair-ties and closed-toe shoes.
Location
Ceramics Studio (Ground floor with raised tables, narrow doorways).

In an effort to make our site more environmentally friendly, we ask that students respect our wishes to reduce the amount of uncollected/ unwanted work at the end of term by carefully considering what is they make using an allowance of up-to 6kg of raw clay per term. Clay is allocated at the discretion of the tutor.
