Who is this class suitable for?
All skill levels welcome.
What will be covered in the class?
Discover (or re-discover) your inner artist!
This course is perfect for beginners who are looking to build confidence and skills in creativity or for those who already have lots of creative experience but feel that they need some new inspiration!
This is a 5 week course is designed to encourage a playful approach to creating images in mixed media, while being guided through elements of colour theory, composition and application.
In the first three weeks you will be guided by artist tutor Sarah Hunt as you explore different mark making techniques using a variety of tools and media, working from both your imagination and observational studies. You will build up a folder of resources, which you will use to develop a final piece in the last weeks inspired by an image of your choice. This can be based on a memory of a perfect day, a dream or even the Arts Centre’s historic parkland!
What will I need to bring?
Materials and tools are included.
Art Studio. The art studio is situated at the top of a flight of stairs. Tools are all light and accessible. Work benches are not currently height adjustable.
Sarah Hunt is a textile and mixed media artist. She loves to take a fresh look at traditional art and craft techniques – playing with scale, subject and material – so that she can share them with others in a playful and accessible way. Her courses are popular with early years all the way up to grownups as she creates safe and nurturing spaces to explore creativity and learn new skills.
