Ciara Callaghan is a natural colour and textile artist. Her work is an exploration into being present and finding calm in the making process as well as functional textiles as fine art objects and the history of piece of textile art from dyeing and making through to the relationship of owning. Ciara creates a learning environment where you can slow down and leave day to day life behind you as you learn new skills and enter the flow state of making.

Alondene Phillips

Alondene Phillips is a print, textiles and ceramics artist. With over a decade of experience refining her practice, Alondene’s unique and experimental approach to print and surface design enables students to enhance their practice and develop their own unique style. In honing her craft it has been about playing with manipulating form and using textile and print making background to expand techniques in ceramic surface design. Alondene is knowledgeable and experienced but best of all is open to experimentation and skillfully guides her students to push boundaries and have faith in their creative abilities. @alondenephillipsceramics

She loves to take a fresh look at traditional art and craft techniques – playing with scale, subject and material – so that she can share them with others in a playful and accessible way. Her courses are popular with early years all the way up to grownups as she creates safe and nurturing spaces to explore creativity and learn new skills.

Sara Myers is a classically trained sculptor. She works on commercial work as well as her own sculpture practice in Milton Keynes and has taught Art at undergraduate level, life drawing and sculpture workshops alongside her practice for many years. Sara takes time to nurture the creative development of the individual by creating a fun and relaxed environment where students can develop their skills but also feel comfortable finding their own style and confidence.

Clare Layton has been working with Milton Keynes Arts Centre for a number of years delivering her hugely popular and sell-out silversmith workshops. Clare has extensive experience in silversmith techniques and creative tutoring. She expertly guides her students through classic techniques in silversmithing, building confidence with specialist tools and bringing their designs to life.

Beccy Gillatt

Beccy Gillatt is a Buckinghamshire-based silversmith who has been teaching adults for over 15 years. With a MA from the Royal College of Art in goldsmithing, silversmithing, metalwork and jewellery, Beccy has gone on to show her work in galleries and fairs all over the world, including the Goldsmiths fair and Collect. She was also awarded the Goldsmiths Company Future of Design Award for Silversmithing (2001) and Goldsmiths Company Young Designer. Beccy is a friendly, approachable and patient teacher giving each student plenty of tutor time in order to support them in creating their visions.

Katherine is a professional jewellery designer/maker with a BA (hons) and MA (Distinction) in Jewellery and Silversmithing from Birmingham City University. She has been making for over 20 years and has over 10 years teaching experience. Most recently Katherine has been a Diploma tutor at The British Academy of Jewellery in London and is currently a mentor for Jewellers Academy. Katherine’s work has been featured in a number of publications and her work exhibited as part of Collect at the Saatchi Gallery in London and LOOT at The Museum of Arts and Design in New York.
