Who is this class suitable for?
Ages 16+

What will be covered in the class?
This course allows students to be introduced to approachable practical experiments that are later developed using various materials such as acrylic paints, watercolours, pen and ink, collage and small found materials.

Everything will be demonstrated on how the materials can be used in each session and constant guidance will be given throughout the course. Contemporary artists are introduced and discussed each week to aid as reference material. This course is ideal for beginners and amateur artists who are wanting to experiment with materials and ideas further.


What to bring?
You will need to bring an A4 sketchbook, set of paintbrushes, ink, and basic paint sets including a set of: acrylics, watercolours, oils and gouaches. A starter paint pack can be purchased from Milton Keynes Arts Centre prior to your course for £25; details of how to purchase this pack will be emailed two weeks prior to your course start date. Shared tools including palettes and easels will be available for your use but you are welcome to bring your own.

Access
The arts studio which is situated at the top of a flight of stairs. Tools are all light and accessible and work benches are not currently height adjustable.

Tutor
Chantelle Stephenson is a practising artist and educator that graduated from the Cambridge School of Art in 2007. She has tutored Fine Art on the Foundation Art and Design course at Hitchin College and run workshops for Camden Arts Centre, The South London Gallery, and Milton Keynes Arts Centre.

Chantelle has a diverse range of technical disciplines including Oil painting, Abstract Painting, Alternative Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture

Booking Terms and Conditions
Completing your booking with Milton Keynes Arts Centre signifies your agreement to the below terms of Refunds and Cancellation. All profits support our annual programme of exhibitions, events and charitable outreach projects.

Bookings are non-refundable and only transferable at the discretion of Milton Keynes Arts Centre. Any workshops that you are unable to attend cannot be refunded and cannot be reallocated.

Courses may be rescheduled/cancelled by Milton Keynes Arts Centre if the minimum number of required students is not met. Notification of a possible reschedule/cancellation will be sent to students three-working days before the first workshop of the term, in this instance only will refunds be issued in full if a course is rescheduled/cancelled.
Photographs and/or video will be taken during this course
As a registered charity, it can sometimes be necessary to share photos and videos of our community outreach in printed matter, social media, press releases and funding applications. By taking part in this event you grant Milton Keynes Arts Centre full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming to help achieve our charitable aims.
