Before we go any further let’s answer a few questions you might have.

What does Milton Keynes Arts Centre do?

We’re an arts charity that enables the curious and creative to make a difference in their communities.

We specialise in co-developing artist-led Projects with marginalised or disadvantaged communities in Milton Keynes, which respond to the issues they are facing – from insecure housing and poverty to loneliness, isolation and poor mental health.

How do I get involved?

We’re all about making new friends and sharing the work we do with other passionate and creative people. If you’re a creative with experience of working in and with communities, we’d love to know more about you and the work you do. Email us

I want to create some art activities in my neighbourhood/for my community, can you help?

If you represent a community group and have an idea for a Project that will help to address a particular need, we welcome hearing from you.

However, there are a few things you should know…

We are completely reliant upon raising money to fund our charitable work.

Projects take time to plan and deliver – sometimes several years.

Unfortunately, we cannot support events and activities at short notice unless funding is available to cover our costs. Contact us

I am interested in hiring an artist to lead a workshop; how much would this cost?

We offer a range of fun and educational artist-led activities at affordable prices. Have you seen what we have coming up soon?

If it’s something bespoke you’re after. We work with lots of different artists experienced in leading participatory activities and would be happy to offer referrals for them to lead a workshop.

Before you get in touch, follow the link below for guidance on artists’ rates. Artist fees guidance

In addition to artists’ fees, you should also budget for material costs and any travel expenses incurred by the artist in reaching you.

The Barn

We’re biased, but our base in Great Linford is absolutely gorgeous. In fact, The Barn can be hired out for Wedding receptions, children’s creative parties, team meetings and away days. Our location also lends itself to quiet and private occasions such as wakes and life celebrations.

As a registered charity, our income generated through ticket sales, donations as well as venue hire directly supports our work.
